Happy New School Year!!!
The 2009-10 school year has started out with a lot of enthusiasm! Administration is pleased with the student’s behavior and attitudes starting off this year. The teachers are rested, refreshed and excited about the new year; and the students are working hard and feeling a lot of success! Let’s keep this momentum going! Below are some suggestions on ways you can help your child be successful this year!
· Ask your child questions each day about school, assignments, teachers, and friends (don’t ask yes and no questions).
· Plan trips to Wal Mart, grocery store, grandmother’s, etc. after homework time…set aside time directly after school to get assignments done (don’t fall for the “I did it at school” routine/they can always study)!
· You can check your child’s grades, attendance, and discipline by going on line to home.sti-k12.com and entering your child’s pin # and Student number.
· Please feel free to communicate with teachers through email. Most teacher’s have given their email addresses to their students. If you need an address just call me at 677-5153 ext. 234.
· Look for the first official progress report on Wednesday, September 9, 2009.
· If your child is struggling please contact the teacher in order to find to help your child be successful (don’t wait until the nine weeks is over)!
Parents of sixth grade students may be feeling a little lost. Seven teachers a day is a big change from last year. It will take several weeks for your child to get adjusted to each teacher’s routine, testing style, and expectations. Be encouraging and contact the teacher if you don’t see weekly improvements. I am sure that your child will feel at ease and experience success very soon!
This year has started out with great promise! We are proud of our student body, we are proud of our parental support, we are proud of our teachers, and we are proud of our administration at Rehobeth Middle School! It is our goal to equip all of our students academically, socially, emotionally, and physically so they can achieve their highest dreams!
Let’s keep this positive momentum going!!!
